Waller and Wood

Waller and Wood is the showcase for unique painted clothing and scarves by internationally acclaimed artist, Carole Waller. Her beautiful painted textiles can be found in the V&A collection and can be purchased here in Bath at this delightful showcase in the heart of the city. The gallery is run by the artist and her partner Gary Wood, whose evocative and vibrant stoneware ceramics are also on show. The gallery hosts changing exhibitions and shows a collection of contemporary jewellery by British artists. Carole paints directly onto cloth using dye with paintbrushes – like paint on canvas. The resulting fabric is light and washable. A variety of techniques are used in the paintings to achieve a semi-transparent effect. The studio in Abbey Green is light and welcoming with more to explore on the lower ground floor. Spend an afternoon chatting to Carole and learn for yourself why Waller and Wood is such a celebrated creative hub in the centre of Bath.
