The Pear Tree

Since opening 25 years ago, The Pear Tree has been supplying the people of Sherborne with gourmet food for their own kitchen from their exquisite deli; alongside culinary treats to eat in their vibrant cafe. The entire team of staff have a palpable passion for food. Constantly sampling new products and always interested to learn the provenance of it all, their knowledge comes from personal experience. The cafe too is bright and friendly and paired with a reasonably priced menu. Whether it’s the lunch time special, a new salami in the deli or some afternoon guilty pleasure, there is always something to satisfy every appetite. The sourcing process is meticulous, and focused towards the South West whenever possible. However, deli classics are on offer from all corners of the globe. For those products from further afield, each item is sourced directly from the artisan, the farmer or the producer.

About

Sherborne

The heart of Sherborne lies in the interesting character in each of it's buildings and the individual characters inside every independent shop and cafe. With the oldest building, The Abbey, dating back as far as AD705, English writers throughout the ages have praised the town's inescapable beauty. Following the footsteps of poets and novelists such as Thomas Hardy and John le Carré, you can still enjoy and discover pockets of architectural beauty from centuries past with a walk through those quaint and rambling streets. Boasting traditional charm and a friendly village atmosphere, the local independents are a winner when it comes to getting a feel for the Sherborne community.
