Gopal’s Curry Shack began its life when two friends, Melanie and Heather, began a supper club at Heather’s home where they served authentic, vegetarian, Indian cuisine. Their next venture was catering for a small music festival in Derbyshire and now they are the brains behind the buzzing venue at Wapping Wharf. The restaurant is cosy with beautiful, vibrant colours everywhere which is equally reflected in the food. They’ve created a street-food vibe, but it is the beautifully presented, gourmet meals and that are sure to delight. The plant-based and mouth-watering menu features pakoras, weekly curry specials or a tasty samosa chaat. Each dish is packed full of flavours and textures, and with all organic and locally sourced produce, it’s extra tasty. Their main emphasis is on creating delicious food using the spices found in the heart of India. When you visit, you’re guaranteed a personal touch as if you’re dining at a friend’s place, tracing back to the supper club days.
