Christmas is creeping up on us and as we approach the final countdown we think it’s time work wound down and the fun and festivities stepped up a notch. Now is the time to gather friends, feast on rich seasonal flavours, drink some red wine, and generally have a merry old time.
So this week we’re gifting you 5 independent eateries in Bath that do decadence in just the way this week in December deserves.
The Oven, Saw Close
Fabrizio Mancinette, head chef at The Oven, was awared Pizza chef of the year for 2016. Firstly, that’s our kind of award. Secondly, if that’s not a reason to visit we don’t know what is.
Vino Vino, Saw Close
Ant & Dec, Torville & Dean, Fish & Chips. Good alone, a million times better together. Red wine and Christmas? Same applies and Vino Vino serves some of the best bottles in Bath.
Igloo Bar, Abbey Hotel
One of the coolest venues in Bath. Literally. If ever there were an appropriate time to have fun in an Igloo themed bar then surely Christmas would be it?
Marlborough Tavern, Marlborough Buildings
A picture paints a thousand words. And just look at that one. This is pub grub a notch above the norm but still served in a cosy and reassuringly laid-back atmosphere. Chunky wooden tables, squidgy sofas and delightful staff mean you’ll want to stay all day. And hey, at Christmas why not?
Hare and Hounds
A mile outside town with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Wrap yourself in one of their blankets, order a hot mulled wine and brave the weather. Nothing you do for the rest of the week will feel quite as festive.
