Fledging and established designers and makers, innovative and diverse local food and drink producers, unusual, unique vintage and antiques, as well as a live band, a lot of people and some seriously good vibes. All mixed together across one town on one Sunday each month. That’s The Frome Independent.
Established in 2015 by a group of people who wanted to create a hub of community, culture, and conversation, The Frome Independent has since gone from strength to strength. Each market seeing new producers, more people and crucially more money being passed directly between independent makers and their customers. We visited the market recently and were just bowled over by the variety. The calibre here is high, all producers are vetted and chosen by the people than run the market and we hear the waiting list to become a stall holder is extremely long. Not just restricted to the market stalls though the town’s independent businesses also see a huge upsurge in custom on market day as the town is packed with a group of people actively seeking out innovative products from independent businesses.
You won’t find The Frome Independent in a guide book but for those visiting our first community of Bath if your weekend happens to coincide with market day, and the above appeals, then head here on Sunday morning. Below are some pictures from our trip, we’d love to hear from you if you do visit the market, tag us @pixie.app and let us know who and what you discover!
